Question: First time home buyer credit?
My husband I bought our house back in July and had our taxes ammended and sent that in I believe in August or early September. They told us the tax credit could take up to 18 weeks to get back to us. Is there a way to track the refund and when it may come in? I’ve tried looking around but haven’t found very much. I would just like to know when we may be getting our money!
Thanks!
I don’t really get what you’re talking about Cheryl? We filed our 2008 taxes back in March. Then we bought a house in July and ammended our taxes to get the $8,000 tax credit. They told us it would take around 18 weeks to get to us. So yes.. We’re supposed to get a refund for it.Answer: You cannot track it on the IRS website “where is my refund” that is only for regular taxes. You have to call the IRS to see if it has been processed or not yet….1-800-829-1040 and keep pressing 0 until you get the live operator and let them know you want to check on the status of your amended tax return for tax year 2008.

Tax Credit Apartments In California

Question: How do I file my taxes if my state of residence is in Texas but I’m self employed the whole year in California
I worked as contractor/1099 in California. The contract lasted 11 months. I rented an apartment and driving my own vehicle which I shipped from Texas to California. Monthly I went back to Texas for R&R of 3 days. Do I get tax credit for the expenses mentioned above when I file an out-state return for California? can I file part of my salary as per diem which is non taxable?
How does the above circumstances affect my federal tax filingAnswer: You file a nonresident California tax return. If you maintain your principal home in Texas you will have deductions for your living expenses in California.
You can take a meal per diem which in most areas is $45. Keep receipts for everything else, plus a complete mileage record.
Your state return comes from the federal return, and your business deductions taken on Form 2106 will be recognized on the state return.

Question: First time home buyer trying to get tax credit?
I am a first time home buyer who closed in July 2009. I am filing single and on track to make roughly $90,000 this year. I know last week Obama signed the extension of this program which also raised the income limit for single filers to $125,000 from the previous $75,000. My question is will this apply to me since I closed before this new bill went into affect. I’ve gotten mixed answers and want to know my options.
Answer: Nope, the new extension ONLY applies to closed home sales AFTER 11/30/09. Extensions EXTEND things FORWARD, not backwards.
