Energy Tax Credit For 2010

Question: can I claim my energy star shingles on 2010 taxes?
I got I got a new roof with energy star shingles in 2009. I don’t qualify for credit for 2009 can I save and put on 2010 taxes next year , I know might not get it next year but want to know if can try. Or should I still list on this year -will it be carried over to next year. Don’t know if I list whole roof amount or just shingles.
Answer: If you installed the roof in 2009, that is the only year you can claim it. This is provided you have the manufacturer statement that the shingles qualified (check their website).
There is no carryover.
