Work Tax Credit Telephone Number

Work Tax Credit Telephone Number

Question: claiming childcare costs from tax credits?

I have started a new job working 16 hrs a week. I called tax credits to tell them i am paying childcare for my 12 month old child. They told me that without a PAYE number i can not claim. I have been waiting 6 weeks for a payslip, the manager where i work has been on hols so been unable to give me the number. I called back to tell them this, they took my new employers full address, telephone number, my childminders details and registration number and said the forms would be in the post. Does this mean they are letting me claim without the PAYE number?

Answer: It sounds as if someone has got their wires crossed.
I’ve never been asked for a PAYE number, only National Insurance and when using a childminder I had to supply their registration number.
I think that your claim should be ok now.

Federal Tax Credit Adoption

Federal Tax Credit Adoption

Question: How does the federal adoption tax credit work with international adoption?

I know that we would need to spend the 11,000 or so in adoption expenses in order to get that matched in credit, but how does the tax credit actually work? If we fill out our taxes and we are getting a refund of say $500, do we get the credit on top of that or do we have to owe money in order to receive any of the credit?

Answer: For international adoption, you can only take the adoption credit if the adoption was finalized in 2006.

The adoption credit is a non-refundable credit. This means the credit can reduce your tax liability down to $0. But if a tax payer don’t owe any taxes, the adoption credit will not give the tax payer more money back. So if you are getting $500 refund because you overpay taxes, then you will get more money with adoption credit. If you are getting $500 because you are claiming Earned Income Credit, then adoption credit may not add to the amount of your refund.

Energy Tax Credit For Rental Property

Getting proper auto insurance for a rental car is a process full of uncertainty and more than a little confusion. Should I get insurance from the rental company? Am I covered if I use my credit card to rent the car? Does my auto insurance policy cover rented vehicles? All of these are questions that come to mind when thinking about obtaining auto insurance for a rental car.

The first step you should take before renting a car is to check on your existing auto insurance coverage and with your credit card companies to find out what type of rental auto insurance you already have in place. This can be done before you ever rent a car so you enter the process with some background knowledge.

If you are renting a car for pleasure and not business, most likely the coverage and deductibles you have with auto insurance on your car will apply to the rental. If you have comprehensive auto insurance your rental car will have the highest level of coverage, but if you have dropped comprehensive or collision auto insurance on your car remember the rental won’t be covered in case of theft or an accident. Also check with your auto insurance provider for any riders it might offer that might be less expensive than buying auto insurance through the rental company.

Rental car insurance offered by your credit card is going to vary widely depending on the type of card, the issuer and even the bank that provides your credit card. Typically any coverage provided by your credit card will involve damage or loss to the rental, but will exclude your personal belongings, personal liability, other cars and other’s property. You should check with each credit card you carry to find out which one offers the most secondary coverage for rental car insurance.

Once you rent a car and you know where you are covered through your personal auto insurance and credit cards, you will have the option to add coverage through the car rental service. These options include: loss damage waiver, liability insurance, personal accident insurance, and personal effects insurance.

Question: Why shouldn’t tire pressure be part of an energy policy?

It wouldn’t be the first public service announcement to become a policy. For example of past good advice to become policy:

“Buy a more efficient water heater and save money and gas”

Government now offers 300 dollar tax credits for people who buy a tankless water heater since they are the best.

“Add more insulation to your house to save on the heating bill.”

There have been many different government programs to reward business and residential that do this.

The government could require car manufactures to add a tire pressure sensor to every car. The technology is there. So why shouldn’t tire pressure and similar topics be considered a part of an energy policy discussion?
ATJ in order for Obama’s tire pressure remark to be true only a quarter of the vehicles on the road would have to have lower pressure.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/608/

Answer: Absolutely! The best way to solve the energy crisis is not the government doing some grand fix, it is everyone doing a little something.

If everyone drives a little less, makes sure tire pressure is where it should be, keeps their vehicle maintained, turns off one light, replaces a inefficient incandescent bulb with a compact florescent bulb and a million other little things, the US will use less oil and prices will go down.

If 100 Million people save only 1 ounce of fuel a day, that is 781,000 gallons per day.

Senator fears program, tax credit cuts loom to balance budget

Iowa Sen. Randy Feenstra predicts the $1.1 billion budget deficit is the most important issue legislators will face come January. “There’s going to have to be a lot of decisions made on how to either cut programs or cut tax credits to make a balanced budget,” Feenstra said.
