Tax Credit Legislation

Answer: As of now, no.
That could change but, with the economy picking up, I don’t see it happening.

Tax Credit Agency

Question: can the child support agency treat my tax credits that i get for child care as an extra income?
the money i get for child care to let me and my fiance go to work is being treated as an extra income by the csa and not that it is used to pay our registered child minder. its as if one government agency are giving us the money to pay for child care but another is trying to take it off us. can anyone advise me please. thanks
Answer: all extra benefit is treated as extra income, your child benefit is taken from you so you dont get any extra. only DLA is not counted.

Congress Tax Credit

Question: Is it constitutional for congress to pay banks, credit card, insurance companies our tax dollars?!!?
The government is so obviously bought off by private corporations, to the point they are now handing over our tax dollars to them. Isn’t this illegal? Should they all go to jail for corruption? They are pretending it’s a bailout. THese are companies that charge over 20% interest rates and make bank. Just because they got greedy and gambled on Wall Street, why should they get paid off for all their losses instead of taking a hit like everyone else. They still seem to have enough to pay their CEO’s over 16 million in salary and take luxury trips like the one at the Ritz in Dana Point just days before the bailout passed. THey are laughing all the way to the bank on our dime and I’m sick of it, lying to us like it affects the economy of the CEO and shareholders make less profit than the amount they’re used to!
Answer: Congress can make any law to disburse funds from the Treasury in any way it sees fit.
It sucks, but if Congress makes a law, it’s legal.
Five ideas to stimulate the economy
Despite the $787 billion stimulus plan Congress passed in 2009 following the financial crisis, it’s been a painfully weak economic recovery. With unemployment staying at an unnervingly high 9.5%, economists expect growth to continue slowing later this year. This has only fueled talk of the need for another round of government spending.

Can I claim a house I bought this year (2009) on my 2008 taxes or do I have to wait until next year???
Thanks, Helen. I am aware of the repayment. I just wasn’t sure if i’d be allowed to claim for this year since it’s purchased in 2009.Answer: You can claim the credit on your 2008 return. Remember, you have to pay it back, it is more like a loan then a credit.

8000 Tax Credit Who Qualifies
Question: Earned income credit/tax refund question?
I have a questions for any qualified accountants/tax service employees or anyone who might know the answer.
My husband and I qualify for EIC. Typically we get around an $8000 dollar tax refund each year. We had a baby this year in March. So we now have 4 children under the age of 16. I went to the free Turbo Tax refund calculator (which in the past and this year for my sister was pretty accurate). When I put in that we had 3 dependents, it said we would get $10,289 but when I bumped it up to 4 dependents in went down to $6265. Is this right? Would the refund amount go down with a 4th dependent?
I didn’t think it sounded right either. I do remember our tax guy saying last year that our 4th child wouldn’t make our refund amount go up much, if any. But I couldn’t imagine it going down by $4000!Thank you all for your help
Answer: No, that doesn’t make sense. You wouldn’t get LESS EIC for four, just wouldn’t get any extra for the 4th child, and you should get the Additional child tax credit for the 4th child too. You wouldn’t get less overall with 4 kids than you would with 3.
