Tax Credit Car Stimulus

Question: I just read an article on Yahoo on how Obama was planning on spending some of the stimulus money on cars?
Here is an excerpt from the article about his plan:
“Obama said he was also using the government’s $787 billion stimulus program to accelerate purchases of government cars and would work with finance companies to increase credit to consumers and dealers. At the same time, the Internal Revenue Service will conduct a campaign to alert consumers of a new tax benefit for auto purchases made between February 16th and the end of this year. It may lead to as 100,000 new car sales, the president said. ”
Thoughts on this. Good idea or not, why?
Answer: The idea itself looks great, but you have to look at the fine printing. How can they predict 100,000 new car sales? Who wants to buy a car from a company that’s on its knees? What does increasing credit mean? Does that mean giving people credit when they don’t have the history that deserves it? That led to the housing crisis.
Let the auto companies die. They will reformulate and come back strong, just like Delta Airlines did.
Part IV: The Dominant Causes of the Credit Crisis – Where did the demand for goods and services go?
Where is the organic growth for demand going to come from? That is the question asked by many CEO’s lately. Growth in demand or the lack thereof is central to future growth and economic prosperity.

Tax Credit Car Buyers 2009

Question: FHA loan: Using Fiance’s credit with mine to get house?
Hello, my Fiance’ and I are getting married on November 7th, 2009 and are hoping to take advantage of the first time home Buyers Tax Credit and are currently looking at foreclosed houses. Only problem is she is a Nanny and does not pay taxes on the income she uses and will not be able to claim her money until next year on her taxes with me (making her). So my question is her credit is much better then mine (almost perfect, she has a car and a few credit cards) but cannot prove her income, so I’m stuck with so-so credit and want to get the best rate possible…is there any banks out there that can use both of our incomes and credit scores together towards an FHA loan? any help would be wonderful. And I don’t even mind hearing from loan officers who think they can help us!
Answer: Congrats on your up coming wedding.
Sorry, but anyone applying for the mortgage will have to provide income documentation. You have a couple of choices here.
1) Wait until she has filed her taxes.
2) Apply on your own – With an FHA loan, a person with a 620 score gets the same rate as someone with an 800 score.
3) Credit repair – work on getting your scores up if they are under a 620.
