Question: Disability Credit Canada?

Can a child who is under 2 and diagnosed with cerebral palsy recieve the disability tax credit in Canada? I’m waiting for CCRA to make its decision but that could take 4-6months. Just wondering if any body knows through experience.

Answer: Yes, CCRA should approve it.

My brother owes $30,000 in back child support in Texas and wants to know if the state taking his tax refund constitutes a payment (credit) towards his monthly payment or is this just a method to get him caught up. PLEASE explain in detail!!!!

Answer: The returns are taken to cover the arrears in his support. It will NOT be considered a credit towards any monthly payment due at the current time. He needs to keep making those.

Question: will i get working tax credits this new tax year ?

My income for my husband and i fell drastically in October 2009..with the new tax credits award pending for April 2010 will we see a change in our child tax credit award and will we now qualify for working families tax credit…just wondered because I onow they base the award on last years income but thats no help to us ..we have struggled for the last 6 months and are hoping for some more help

Answer: You should do because its year to year so if your circumstances have changed which they have and you give them a total of your income of the past year they will work it out from there.I would ring them up and ask them directly what you have to do , i would do this ASAP because you may be entitled to some help now.

is christmas eve a bank Holiday? if they are due to clear in your account on th e24th of dec, will you get them early? i rang the help lin and they said people on JSA and income Support will be paid on mon 21 dec, that is if you get paid on the 25 or 26. so what about child tax?. merry christmas. oh yeah im in the uk just in case the best of British ain’t a clue xxx

Answer: If your payment is due to be paid into your account on Thursday 25 December, Friday 26 December or Monday 29 December, it will be paid into your account on Wednesday 24 December instead.

If your payment is due to be paid into your account on Wednesday 31 December 2008, Thursday 1 January or Friday 2 January 2009, it will be paid into your account on Tuesday 30 December 2008 instead.
