8000 Home Buyer Tax Credit Information

Question: How do I get the 1st time home buyer tax credit now, if I have already filed 2008 return?
I recently purchased a home and do qualify for the $8000 tax credit, but I filed my taxed in January and purchased the home in march. I would like to be able to have this 8000 now so I can do some repairs and furnish my home. I have heard there is now a way for you to get it this year even if you have already filed your taxes? I would really love any information you have? If you know of any links to the forms I need please post!
Answer: You would have to amend, paper file an amendment form (1040X), this form is available on the IRS website (http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc308.html), First time home buyer credit form(http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f5405.pdf)
you would have fill this form and mail it in since the IRS does not accept this form through e-file.I did my taxes for free with this website called UncleTax.com, and I can asking any questions such as this one since I completed my taxes w/ them.
Good Luck

First Time Home Buyer Credit Advance

Question: Will I recieve a tax return as well as the first time home Buyers Tax Credit?
Ok, I am in the process of trying to buy a home. With the tax credit for first time home owners looking like a good incentive I have a few questions.
Typically because of me and my families low income, we receive Earned Income Credit (EIC) for each child, and as some of you know lower income families pay little to no taxes and get a substantial refund.
Along with the $8,000 tax credit, will we receive our typical return as well?
Say, for example we get 2500 back typically each year for our tax return, will we get the credit plus the 2500?
Thanks in advance!
Answer: The credit is refundable, which means it comes to you even if you have no tax liability. But, it must be closed on by the end of November to qualify.

Tax Housing Credit Extended

Question: Will the housing tax credit be extended to 2010? If so, will they consider bumping it to $15,000?
I heard this was being debated, but I couldn’t find any stories on it. Can someone shed some light on it for me, or a link to a story?
Answer: There are no stories, only rumors.
I have not found anything showing that congress is even talking about it though.
I really hope not, all of these freebies are dribing our country into more debt then I think my great grandchildren will be able to handle already.

8000 Tax Credit October

Question: First Time Home Buyer Credit for $7500, will I have to pay this back since it changed to $8000?
My husband and I purchased a home in October 2008. We just did our taxes and got the $7500 tax free loan. The lady told us that there is now a new thing going on, if you buy your home between Jan 1, 09 and Dec 1, 09 you get $8000 and you DONT have to pay it back! My question is, since this changed, will they change the $7500 tax free loan into just $7500? It is not fair that since we bought 3 months before the change that we have to pay it back and the other guys dont.
Answer: Sorry, but those are the breaks. How do you think the people who purchased homes before the tax free loans came in to law feel?
