I posted a question earlier about benefits after redundancy. We have calle Tax credits and apparently our child tax credit stays the same!! We have ben looking ino other bnefits and Income support came up but we cant seem to figure out if we are entitlled to it. I look after my 3 young children so dont work, one is at full time school, one is at nursery and one at home full time. When my husband looses his job he will claim JSA but is that all we will have to live on?? That will mean we will be nearly £300 a week down onwhawe get now with his wages! im so so worried we wont survive!!

Answer: when your husband looses his job , you will both need to be put on a joint clam for income support , so it will be both of you calming together , you will also get help with council tax , rent or mortgage payments , school dinners , school clothing , you will still get child tax credit ,

Question: Are HSA distributions considered household income when calculating the Michigan Homestead Property Tax Credit?

The MI-1040CR instructions say that household income includes reimbursement from medical spending accounts but I am not sure if disbursements from a Health Savings Account are included?

Answer: It makes no difference whether it’s a MSA or a HSA. You have to include it as household income.

Disability Tax Credit For Children

Disability Tax Credit For Children

Question: Will I get a tax refund this year since I only made $1000?

I am on social security disability and tried to work this year and made $1,000. I know I can’t get the child tax credit since I didn’t earn enough, but am I still eligible for EIC and/or the making work pay credit? I haven’t received my W2 yet, else I would figure this out on my own. Thanks! =)

Answer: It depends on how much was withheld from your check. If your only earnings were $1,000 + SDI you should get all of any income tax you paid in (if any) back. But you won’t get your SS or Medicare taxes back.
