Question: I purchased a home in Jan 09 and claimed the 7500 credit this year when I filed my taxes. What now?
The 7500 bucks was offered but had to be payed back. I filed my taxes before the stimulus was passed this week. Can I get the 8000 bucks in the stimulus?
Answer: Yes you can. You will have to file an amended return 1040x. You can get the additional 500 and you wont have to pay it back. The initiative was just signed so the form for it is not out yet.

Answer: I’m sure not going to expect anything. I am retired military and drawing a pension. I’ve been hounded to file for the stimulus rebate for 2 months. I manage ok on my pension even though some months get a bit tight.
I didn’t file for the stimulus rebate and i’m not going to ask for a damn thing…
Future generations of Americans our Grand Children and even their great grand children are going to be paying through the teeth for all this ridiculous spending that’s going on.

I visited Obama’s website. He has a tax calculator on his site. I entered my pension income and it says i’ll pay $500 dollars less on my pension than i would under mccain’s plan. Under the current tax structure I don’t have to pay taxes and wouldn’t under McCain’s plan either. So I wonder how Obama is doing the math.
I voted last friday for John McCain.

Question: Is there any credit in the ‘09 stimulus check for self employed people or just employees with less tax taken?
As I see it the 2009 stimulus is less money taken out for taxes of your paycheck each week. But, I’m self-employed with no employees. What do I get out of the deal? After all the “American Dream” of owning your own business must have some kind of credit, correct? Or, is what I get out of this deal the big shaft?
Answer: There will be a credit on the 2009 return that you will file next year ($400 if single/$800 if married).
