8000 Tax Credit Pay Back

Question: $8000 Home Owners Tax Credit quetion?
I am pretty bummed out now. I bought a house in Oct of 2008 and received the tax credit of $7500 that I have to pay back. Now they have the new one for $8000 that you dont have to pay back but have to have bought after 1/09. I am doing a streamline refinance and will close at the end of this month in order to get a lower interest rate. Can I use this to qualify for the new $8000 tax credit or am I out of luck??????
Answer: ♦ Out of luck

Hmrc Tax Credits Overpayment
Question: Benefit System and their mistakes?
I wonder if anyone else is having the same thing happen to them. I made a change of circumstances to my Tax Credits via letter two years ago regarding child care costs. Since then I have ad my computer cleaned due to trojans. Last week I received a review case letter which was fine so I telephoned the HMRC as they asked me to confirm my childcare costs. I told them I had already changed this and merely just sent my forms back each year signed as to me, there was no other change.
They told me they would now remove my costs and could I send them a copy. I explained that in February of this year I have sent my PC away to be cleaned due to loads of viruses and they said then I will have to pay back overpayment and appeal.
They said they would deduct my childcare from now on and so on so on.
This week, I find they have not deducted my childcare and have paid exactly the same as if i was having childcare. Does anyone know what the best thing for me to do is.Answer: Are you are suggesting that they overpaid you for 2 years and you never noticed ???
PS you had better hope they find your letter otherwise you could be in Court for over-claiming …
PPS in future you might like to keep copies of everything you send to the morons working in the benefits system ..
