Working Parents Tax Credit

Question: Can i claim working tax credit?
Im 22 years old, and work 37hours per week & i earn £180.99 after tax per week. (minimum wage)
My partner has a 8 year old son from a previous relation ship, and together we have a 7 week old baby girl.
My partner is in receipt of income support, and child benefits.
I am still living with my parents until we can find bigger accommodation, and properly live together. As my partner’s current home would be far too cramped if i moved in.
I stay over within the 3 nights limit so that we don’t mess up her current benefits / situation, bedside’s that i pay for the nappies / milk for the baby.
Would i be eligible for working tax credit, as i am obviously a carer for my child?
Answer: Go to www.entitledto.co.uk
This is an online calculator and will give you all the information you need.
I would suggest that if you are seeking Housing Association property to all move into your parents in the short term…this way you will be over crowded and the local authority will have no choice but to find you housing together. You being away from your family will also score high points.
As far as I know,,,and you will have to check this on the website, as a single person I believe you have to be over 25 to claim working tax credits for yourself. However I also believe there are other options if you are doing an apprenticeship etc etc.
Hope this helps
