Homeowner Tax Credit Stimulus

Question: Should i wait to file my tax return for the Stimulus package to pass?
I have a question for the H&R Block lady, however. We bought in Oct. of 2008. Should we hold off on filing to see what we get out of this stimulus package? I realize we won’t get the 15K, but i heard about $1,000 credit for homeowners who don’t itemize? and we also heard we might not have to pay the $7,500 back. that was the original plan from what i heard. Thanks!
Answer: if you will get anything off the stimulus package it will be sent to you even if you’ve already filed taxes….thats what happened in 2008 with the stimulus checks…they were sent out after everyone had already filed taxes
