Question: Do I have to wait until next year to file for the alternative vehicle tax credit?

The car was purchased in mid-February of 2010 and is an advanced lean burn technology vehicle that qualifies for the tax credit. I would love to get the tax credit this year (2009).
The car is a 2010 VWGolf TDi that was purchased in February 2010.

Answer: You bought in 2010, it goes on the 2010 return. PERIOD.
