Tax Credit Purchase Home

Question: Do I qualify for the first time home Buyers Tax Credit if I purchased my first home after my divorce? ?

I divorced my wife in April 2008. She owned and still occupies a home which I had no interest in. I was not on the loan and absolutely everything was strictly in her name. After my divorce, I purchased a home on my own in July 2008. Do I qualify for the F.T.H.B. tax credit?

Answer: You should. There rules, but it sounds like you will.
