Question: How do you buy an item from ebay.us when you’re from the Philippines?

Like, what’s the procedure generally? Will I need a credit card to link to paypal for which to pay in ebay? And how will I get the item? =P oh and are there more charges (customs, tax etc) I need to pay for? I’m planning to buy a cd from ebay.

Would appreciate comments and experiences from Filipinos as well who have bought items in ebay.us =P Many thanks

Answer: Hello,

you will need a credit or a debit card for your paypal to be able to pay. As for the taxes it depends on your county’s policy but for an item like CD there will not be any taxes – I am quite sure about that. Especially that lots of sellers mark the package as a gift, so you will pay no tax at all – just ask the seller if he / she could do it.

Question: Question about the $7500.00 Tax credit for first time home buyers.?

I’m a First time home buyer and I have a question about the tax credit. I know I’m grasping here but I figured it was worth a shot. I closed on my home in March 2008 but was not required to make the first payment until May 2008. I know you must have made your purchase between April 2008 and June 2009. Is purchase date the day you closed or when you made your fist payment. I know what I want the answer to be but probably isn’t. Thanks!

Answer: Answer is when you first had occupancy of your house, which is usually the day you closed, unless you can prove that you did not move in until after April 9th (show a rentback agreement or a clause in th e contract from a builder). Sorry, it is not the first payment date.
