Home Buyer Credit Form

Home Buyer Credit Form

Question: Can you fill out an amendment to your taxes to get the first time home buyers credit? If so, where is the form?

Answer: If you qualify as a first time homebuyer and have completed the purchase on the qualifying home, you may amend your 2008 income tax return to claim the tax credit. You will need to file Forms 1040X and 5405, the latter being the tax credit form.
