Question: is the disability tax credit taken off my disability check or is it safe?

I am on disability and the max money you can make a month is 500 above your check. my DIsability tax credit (just this i already did my regular income tax months ago) is alot more than that, will they take away next months check or is it safe from them. i live in canada

Answer: If your on disabilty that isn’t taxable or you don’t have enough income to be taxable then it will do you no good to reduce your tax owing it is not payable to you therefor you do not declare it as income and it will not effect your current payment. If you reside with somebody how is taxable then you may be eligible to transfer the credit to them.
