Question: should i apply for an irish driving licence and change the address on my insurance?ireland?
Hello
I work 3days a week in the republic of ireland and live there.The dole pays me for the other 2 days.
A few years ago i used my sister address in northern ireland to get a uk licence.I did this to get a cheaper van & insurance.The insurance was 1600euro cheaper in the north.
In the south of ireland around the border area,the guards/customs/dole squad are stopping cars for benifit fraud.people living in the north giving false address in the south and claiming benifits.
My problem is that i do live in the republic,but my licence and insurance state otherwise!!All my bank/doctors/credit union etc are addressed to my home in the republic.
If i change my licence i have to change licence/insurance/ntc van/pay high tax and insurance.
I had a full irish licence a few years ago,but had to hand in for the uk licence.
