Question: Is there a Federal Income Tax Rebate for the 2008 form?
If I already received a $600 Fed Tax Rebate check back in April-May 2008, do I get to claim another $600 Recovery Rebate Credit on the Fed Income Tax Form (due April 15, 2009)? Or is the new Recovery Rebate Credit only for those who did not get the April ’08 check?
Answer: No, that’s only for someone who got less than a full rebate in ’08. There’s a worksheet in the instructions for calculating the amount of the RRC.
