Tax Credit Of 6500

Question: Tell me……do we have $6500 eligibility?
My Husband and I sold a town home, closed October 1st…..will we be eligible for the $6500 tax credit when buying a home in the next month?
Answer: Dear RN: Too soon to tell, the Senate passed the bill today but the House has yet to vote and we do not know the details.
My gut is you will not be covered by the new bill until after Nov 30. Might be worth delaying the closing a couple weeks. Do you meet the qualifications 5 years in the previous home etc? Stay tuned to all news channels and keep checking www.irs.gov.
