How does the 1000 Dollar Child Tax Credit
Work?

heard of the $1,000 child tax credit, so the first question to
answer is how does the 1000 dollar child tax credit
work?
How to claim the 1000 dollars child tax
credit?
First of all, most parents in the US should
be able to claim the 1000 dollar child tax credit for each
qualifying child who is 16 or younger at the end of
December of the tax year. See Child Tax Credit
Eligibility rules to see if your child or children qualify
you for the 1000 dollars child tax credit each.
If you have a qualifying child, then you are
entitled for the child tax credit amount of up to $1,000.
However, since the child tax credit is a nonrefundable tax

credit per child if:
-
your tax liability is less than the total child tax
credit amount allowed, or
-
your modified adjusted gross income is higher than
the child tax credit threshold levels for your tax
filing status.
When your 1000 dollars child tax
credit is reduced...
If you are not entitled to use the full
amount of child tax credit of 1000 dollars per child, then your
child tax credit will be reduced by 5% of the excess of your
modified AGI over child tax credit threshold plus other
